1: As author of the images I retain copyright over resale & reproduction of those images. In the case of Wedding and Portrait Photography, I grant the client a permanent license to print and distribute copies for their personal use. This does not however extend to reproduction for sale or for entry into competitions, unless prior agreement has been made.

2: I retain the right to use non-saleable copies of images made by me in web galleries to illustrate the types of images that can be provided to future clients. These will be of screen resolution only and will be made unsuitable for screen capture or printing.

3: I retain the right to use images created professionally in professional salons and competitions as part of the ongoing strategy of my business and to further the profile of said business.

4: Landscape and Art & Abstract images may be resold by the purchaser but must be accompanied by any Certificates of Authenticity and Light Fastness that were issued with the original print.

5: Whilst every effort is made to ensure that you have a wonderful set of images, the perception of images is always subjective and refunds will not be made on the basis of perceived aesthetic discrepancies.

6: Payments:

Weddings are subject to a £200 non-refundable deposit along with the signed contract at the time of booking with the balance due 4 weeks before the event. Bookings will not be confirmed without payment of the deposit and receipt of the signed contract.

Portrait sessions are subject to a 20% booking deposit with the balance due one week prior to the session.

Any items selected from the a la carte menu are subject to a 50% deposit on ordering with the balance to be paid on collection.

An electronic invoice will be sent by email with a link to the Secure Payment Site. Payment may be made by Debit or Credit Card or by PayPal

7. In the very unlikely event of equipment failure, refunds will be limited to the amount paid.

8. Cancellation of a booking will incur the following costs:
 - less than 40 days 100%
 - 41-70 days 50%

If a late booking is made to fill a cancelled date then a full refund of monies paid, less the deposit will be made.

How do you ensure against failure?

Like any good photographer, I hope I have covered the essentials. I shoot with two high end digital cameras of identical design so that operating them is as intuitive as possible. Firstly, this saves time switching lenses and secondly, in the unlikely event of a camera failing I have a spare. Each of those cameras records to two separate memory cards so every image is backed up within the camera at the time of shooting. On downloading to the computer, all images are transferred via three or four separate uploads and backed up to  four separate drives. This may sound paranoid but this is the art of capturing a unique moment in time - there won't be a second chance.

Do you just cover your local area?

I am based in West Oxfordshire, but I will happily travel anywhere to cover an event if you wish. Please note however that the basic fees only cover car travel to and from the event on the day and that any overnight accommodation air fares or ferry crossings will be charged separately.

Do we need to feed you?

I will look after my own sustenance on the day. The nature of documentary photography is that I need to be mobile and there are many interactions during the reception that may be missed if I'm eating. Similarly, alcohol and good photography are not great bedfellows.

How will you get there?

Mainland UK I will generally drive to the event. I keep my car well prepared, I have two sat nav devices and an array of maps and I will always arrive well before the event.

Do You Charge for Travel?

Not generally. I will usually travel to the event by car allowing plenty of time to get there. If it is possible to drive to the venue on the day, I would not charge for travelling. If the distance is too great and necessitates flights and/or overnight accommodation the night before the event to ensure my timely arrival then that may be charged as an additional cost but at a reasonable rate. I won't book First Class Tickets and a 5* Hotel.

Do you have a preferred style?

Through choice I would go for the documentary style of Wedding Photography as I feel it encapsulates the story of the day most perfectly although should you want some formal portraits I am happy to do those too. Portrait Photography I feel is at its best when it tells the viewer something about the individual, and for this reason I have elected not to have a studio. I prefer to photograph my subjects engaged in their work, hobbies or sport so that the image tells a story about them.

How do we get what we want?

I will meet with you to discuss your particular requirements prior to the event and I will send you a questionnaire about one month before to elicit final details such as guest lists and any 'must have' images. If you want any specific group shots it is also helpful to have mobile numbers for the Best Man and Ushers as they can be invaluable in gathering people together and so minimising the disruption to your day.
